BIHC ranks 2nd at the EuroCHRIE University Challenge 2021 This is an annual student competition hosted by Russell Partnership Technology. We had the honor to participate in the 7th Edition which was an online hotel simulation, a competition open to EuroCHRIE member colleges and universities where 23 countries and 16 teams were represented. The participating team was made up of four senior students (Rohan, Leah, Edward and Bilha) and one instructor (Simon Kasyema – Food & Beverage Instructor at BIHC) who competed with other institutions globally including our partner Strathmore University. Hotel simulation competitions involve creating a virtual hotel and each week making strategic decisions to improve the position of the hotel in their competitive set, with a focus on Market Performance, Financials, Guest Satisfaction, and Associate Engagement. The top hotels from each competitive set are compared side-by-side and the winning team is the hotel with the best overall balanced scorecard at the end of the four-week competition. Each participating student will receive a certificate in Hotel Business Acumen, demonstrating the successful completion of an advanced application of their studies. Congratulations to the BIHC team!
